This website was created in the interest of minimising harm to young people. Harm minimisation is a strategy to reduce harm from unsafe or risky behaviours to the individual and the greater community.

How do you Identify?

What you call yourself, or how you identify can sometimes be very important. It gives you a sense of belonging and knowledge of self.

Sometimes how you identify can cause others to misunderstand or, worse, fear who you are.

Remember - those that mind don't matter and those that matter don't mind.

Why same-sex attraction and gender variance?

We use the term same-sex attracted and gender variant in order to provide support for all young people including those who do not identify with any of the LGBTIQW labels but are still attracted to people of the same-sex or do not adhere to binary rules of gender.

How do some people who are same-sex attracted and gender variant identify?

LGBTIQW stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, transgender, intersexed, and queer. There are many other sub-categories of queerness that people use to describe themselves (e.g. bears, dykes, twinks, etc.)

Important things for you to remember...

Stay safe - do not be forced into anything that you are not comfortable doing.

You are not alone - Many people in this world are attracted to people of the same-sex.

Be who you are - There is no need to change yourself to fit a mould. Everyone has there own identity. There is more than just one way to live.
