HOMEward bound

Artist Statement

How do we define ‘home’? Is it a building? A feeling? A smell? A particular place? Home can be both physical and psychological, incorporating complex identities of self, family, friends and community. We all carry ideals of home that are informed by our personal experiences and our perspectives shift as we relocate to another space / place.

The HOMEward bound project engages young people effected by homelessness, support service providers, local communities and contemporary artists in a conversation about the experiences of ‘home’.

The HOME ward bound project will result in a temporary public interactive artwork (made in the Youth Art Warehouse), initially located in Kibble Park, Gosford then toured around specific sites on the Central Coast.

*HOMEward bound is funded by Gosford City Council Community and Cultural Development Grants 2010
