LGBTQIA+ Groups
A Social and Supportive Group for Sexuality and
Gender Diverse Young People
GenQ
GenQ, RYSS's longest running program, is a safe place for young people 12 – 17 years of age who identify as Sexuality and Gender Diverse.
GenQ is an engaging, activity-based program for young people to socialise, gain information and support, and have fun! GenQ is a vital support service that builds connections for LGBTQIA+ young people, as well as running workshops and programs on issues such as self-esteem, confidence, and leadership skills, cyber-safety, identities, strategies around anxiety and stress management, dealing with homophobia and transphobia, coming out to friends, family, and at school.
GenQ has now grown to a network of young people, youth workers, services, and health professionals who all work collectively to provide help and support to LGBTQIA+ young people on the Central Coast.
